i’m also just a regular kind of slut for them too, so
i generally prefer art from individual artists as opposed to large production efforts because it’s typically more meaningful and personal – there’s an identifiable fingerprint to its creator which is not usually present in more popular, high budget media.
though i can also really appreciate popular media when someone i care about connects with it – but that’s usually for the same reason i like art from small artists: it reveals something personal and meaningful about the one i care about. i find it interesting that the creation of art and the enjoyment of art can have the effect of revealing inner truths and qualities like that
i’m also just a big slut for my friends and partners and want to soak in everything i can about them
i think its interesting that “liking popular media” goes through waves of being fashionable

Adler makes a point: Any game excludes people. Every design decision excludes people. The impulse is "exclude no one" but this impulse is wrong, impossible. The question you *should* ask is: Is this game excluding *the same people who every game tends to exclude*? *That* would be wrong.
This point generalizes beyond games. This sort of choice (or attempt to deny the choice) comes up in designing any human thing.
