606I try to be very careful about CWing things. sometimes I make mistakes but I want to make my posts as safe to read as possible
I sometimes post NSFW/kinky/lewd things behind CWs
I have very limited energy and am very shy so it might take me a long time to reply to messages sometimes, or I might not be able to reply at all. this is kind of an "output only" account for the most part, but I'm hopeful that I can change that over time
I sometimes use curly braces to {clearly show where a grammatical phrase begins and ends}, like that. you can think of them like parenthesis in code or math, except they operate on grammar instead

I can see how they reached that conclusion, but it's not right
Having things like a trauma or addiction triggered is not "uncomfortable", they're potentially dangerous situations. And you aren't placed to decide what a "real trigger" is
Further, content warnings are about respect for your audience, giving people agency in what they engage with. This is why one of the more common arguments against them is "this is too important for a CW", on some level they don't want to respect people's agency
IMO, you can see this in the sort of people who object to content warnings. It's mostly people who are arguing that they shouldn't have to think about other people and what's needed to build psychological safety
I'll use their example of politics: the constant bombardment of political news is a major stressor for a lot of people. People are probably aware of these things, they don't need to be subjected to our yelling, and that sort of constant stress is bad for us. It's not about comfort, it's about safety

what I really want most after a long day of trying to cope with my own trauma is to be viscerally confronted with imaginary trauma that isnāt even real. Iām so glad that all mainstream entertainment decided to move in this direction for the past 20 years so that that is almost the only option available to me

a movie or TV show: *traumadumps for multiple hours in a way that is precision-engineered to be as viscerally upsetting as possible*
everyone: wow what a masterpiece of storytelling. so emotional. it ruined my entire day. 10/10 Iāll recommend this to all my friends

If you want to try one: try one (depending of possibilities, I know it's not that simple)
If you tried one and like it: take one. (again, depending possibilities blablabla)
Don't let anyone gatekeep you from a mobility aid

kasdeyaDiscord is getting absolutely fucking desperate for money. if Signal could stream desktop audio I would honestly relish the chance to watch their company burn to the ground while everyone (hopefully) moved to E2EE FOSS alternatives
as it is though, unfortunately I do still need that one feature of Discord so uhhā¦ Iām stuck on this sinking ship :/
