@eclairwolf oh yeah, its in the manual. its designed to be lightweight and aerodynamic to be portable and easy to throw(n). easily fits into the trunk of a standard size car, too!
,,,, hm
a claire doing literally any of that would be Good
i do extremely enjoy the fact that everyone in this household has picked rowan up and thrown it at least once
thrown rown :3
@Ry oh yeah, fedi is definitely better than other stuff. i was decently successful on twitter which i do miss occasionally, but by the time i switched it was absolutely not the same platform as when i joined. the only thing i miss from twitter and other platforms is that they seemed a bit less insular and it was easier to find a community to fit in with a bit better – but i can’t complain too much. the fact that fedi has a much larger left-leaning and queer culture is extremely welcome.
i definitely had enough engagements on my last account when i was still on tech lgbt but it felt very artificial which is part of the reason i made my own instance :p
i’m glad you’ve found something so comfy, and it makes me really happy when i hear that fedi has provided something of an online home to those who feel alienated elsewhere 💜
in fact im here posting when i could be getting accidentally scooped up by a metamour because she’s too sleepy to realize that im not her partner (and then enjoyed that it happened after we told her later)
fedi doesn’t reward me with kisses and bites and gentle (or rough) touches after i infodump about the 1950s allied communication procedures. you all dont even call me a good girl when i talk about how radical optimism and mutual aid as a basis for queer communities paves the way to a post-capitalist world
(un?)fortunately for fedi, i told my girlfriends my more interesting thoughts that i’d usually share here so i dont have the energy to write them up after i’ve spent that time telling them
anyway being a lesbian is great
im gonna have time tomorrow to myself so maybe i finally do what ive been talking about for *checks phone calendar* a year and actually write a story and post it here
sorry to everyone who was holding their breath
@Ry would be interested in that!
maybe part of the issue of fedi feeling insular is that other things do feel kinda unwelcome, so it ends up being self-fulfilling? we position ourselves out of the space without every introducing the cool things. or maybe we do try and it just feels not worth it when no one engages and so we never really give it a chance to attract those who would enjoy it? hard to say
online socializing is Tough
ive been on and off thinking about whether or not i want to stay on fedi in general, but i think i will. i’ve had a bunch of conflicting thoughts about it (particularly that my experience with fedi is that it can feel fairly insular) but overall i still think its worth it.
im starting to think that maybe the solution is to just be loudly about my interests until i attract others which are also about those things. foxposting and complaining about computer can be fun but i very much want to talk with others about stuff that’s not that
@catgirl_so @kasdeya functional programming concepts will soon spread to all known and unknown languages and paradigms, corrupting them with its eldritch concepts such as The Lens and Transducers (as opposed to the cisducer
