I’m currently working on a project that I’m calling GAGS - Gone wild audio Advanced Gender Search. (I might come up with a better name eventually 😅) it’s a search tool for finding lewd audios on reddit, similar to GWASI. but GAGS’s emphasis is on giving you a lot of control over which genders you want to filter out (both listener and speaker genders) so that you hopefully only get content that’s tailored for you
my prototype already does this really well, but it’s extremely not ready to be used on the open web yet. in fact I’m still deciding whether I feel safe hosting my code on a VPS or even sharing my code with y’all at all. with the risk being that someone could hack it and cause Problems™ or just that people won’t like it and say mean things
you can read more about GAGS in this thread and any new posts about it will (if I remember?) be tagged with #GAGSProject
hmm okay I’ve decided that in order to eliminate as many factors as possible on why #YouTube has decided to block me from watching videos “for using an #adblocker”* I’m going to use YouTube with a version of LibreWolf that only has uBlock Origin installed. literally no other plugins whatsoever. also the settings are all default and I haven’t synced anything to this browser
* despite the fact that I can literally turn it off for days at a time and they still won’t unblock me. I can even report an issue (which I’ve done multiple times) and they just ignore me
it seems like they individually block my YouTube sessions. once a session is blocked it will never be unblocked, but if I clear cookies and log in again on Firefox I can get a day or two of YouTube before being re-blocked. so my LibreWolf session isn’t blocked yet, but the real test will be if it’s still not blocked 3 days from now
I’m trying to figure out why I, in particular, get blocked from watching YouTube and others don’t (even though tons of people are using adblockers on YouTube just fine). my theories are:
In the light of NSFW artists being pushed away from platforms, here's a starterpack for making your own website. It uses the same structure as my own.
- Edit pages via markdown
- Upload art to set folders and fill out info
- Customize the HTML/CSS if you want
Frustrated w/ the Itch/Steam thing?
There's literally TONS of dedicated payment processors that handle NSFW/adult/etc content. Problem is we need more info on which ones allow what, and how much they cost, because this tends to not be on their sites.
We need help w/ emailing sales reps! See below👇🏻
We're collecting (public! free!) information on all of these processors, what their negotiable ranges are, any "hidden" costs, etc, as part of our work on Conjured Ink, but this is literally the kind of thing that could help e.g. Itch itself and others.
Join our Discord: https://discord.gg/VgGHggJdka
Talking to all of these places is a lot of legwork, so having more folks doing this—especially folks who might be creatives themselves who would be interested in using these services and who know how to talk to sales reps—will help us get this huge task done in a short amount of time.
Also, we're gonna have a landing page and FAQ coming soon, but we're doing all this research so we can build a new space where creatives can host and sell THEIR OWN stuff without being beholden to the whims of sweeping platform-level policies (or paying platform fees a cut, even)
BOOSTS WELCOME!!
(Footnote: I am begging mastodon people to not derail this conversation just because they see Discord here. Please meet people where they are, and creatives are not going to use Matrix, as much as I would like them to. I am also begging people to not derail this into talk about cryptocurrency. I am not going to discuss either of these things and will simply mute you at even the slightest mention of either one)
so many studios have been shut down and so many games have been canceled
but not Bloodlines 2. Bloodlines 2 will be passed around to every studio in existence. Bloodlines 2 will be a lightning rod for every type of drama imaginable. Bloodlines 2 will be in development until the heat death of the universe
CW: article contains a picture of a horror scene involving blood and death
Djikstra was probably a really important math guy or something but how did anybody understand a word he wrote?

Exclusion of the lower bound —as in b) and d)— forces for a subsequence starting at the smallest natural number the lower bound as mentioned into the realm of the unnatural numbers.
I don’t even know how to grammatically parse this lol. this kind of shit is why I use {curly braces} to group grammatical structures and try to keep my sentences simple if I can

Unit Δ-44203 is pleased to announce that its talk, 'Building a Robot Visor: How and Why' has been accepted for WHY 2025!
It is looking forward to seeing those ones there.

parsy is by far the best parser I have ever used. either this library in particular is just fucking stellar or combinator-based parsing in general is a really really good idea. I don’t even know what a combinator is but like:
I just had the random thought “they should add Shadow the Hedgehog’s pump-action MP5 to H3VR” and I looked it up and they already did
https://h3vr.fandom.com/wiki/MP5_Shadow
H3VR is a gift to the world that we could never deserve
which of these things are always true of a character with a lawful alignment in D&D?
cyberpunk urban fantasy
imagine the usual “supernatural beings live in secret because they’re hunted and feared” except take the anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist themes from cyberpunk and make supernatural creatures an allegory for marginalized groups
I’ve been wanting to write something like this for years but I’m allergic to making art. I just come up with ideas that I love and then do nothing with them forever
I just officially migrated my account over from tech.lgbt to here! so apologies to anyone who decided to unfollow me on cryptid.cafe and is now following me again
I don’t know much about DAWs but I’m pretty sure that trackers are the vim of the DAW world. like they’re super technical and hard to learn but really powerful and have a small, nerdy following

I don’t know whose idea it was to decouple generating HTML/CSS with the rest of the backend code but that really seems like a bad idea to me because:
render() to render a Jinja template from inside of Python, my LSP is unable to verify that I’m giving it the data types that it expects, or even that I’ve typed the names of all of the variables correctlyrender() calls for my Jinja templates, to make sure I don’t give them the wrong kind of data by accidentrender() stubs to make sure that it matches, or my templates will fail silently (Jinja’s response to getting weird data or no data at all is to just try to punt, which is understandable in production but I would really like it to fail hard if I’m in debug mode)all of this could have been avoided if they’d just let me write the templates in Python as well
I feel like the phrase “don’t fetishize #trans bodies” is misleading to the point of being harmful, because it frames the problem as the attraction itself. like “you’re a sex pest if you find trans bodies attractive, or if you have a kink or a fetish for trans bodies”
I think that’s harmful for two reasons:
but “fetishizing” is not what this phrase is trying to express at all. it’s trying to say “don’t objectify trans people”
I feel like the word “objectify” has gotten pretty diluted but here I’m using it to mean “to treat someone as an object that dispenses sexual gratification, and not as a being that deserves respect”. it’s the mentality that a lot of “pick up artist” type people have, where it’s like they’re trying to find the secret password that can make {women/trans people/etc.} dispense free sex, as if we’re sex toys instead of people
so I think the phrase should be “don’t objectify trans people”. or ideally it should use a less diluted word than “objectify”, but I don’t really know of one right now
