" @kirakira@furry.engineer (un?)fortunately for fedi, i told my girlfriends my more interesting thoughts that i’d usually share here so i dont have the energy to write them up after i’ve spent that time telling them
anyway being a lesbian is great
im gonna have time tomorrow to myself so maybe i finally do what ive been talking about for *checks phone calendar* a year and actually write a story and post it here
sorry to everyone who was holding their breath
@Ry would be interested in that!
maybe part of the issue of fedi feeling insular is that other things do feel kinda unwelcome, so it ends up being self-fulfilling? we position ourselves out of the space without every introducing the cool things. or maybe we do try and it just feels not worth it when no one engages and so we never really give it a chance to attract those who would enjoy it? hard to say
online socializing is Tough
ive been on and off thinking about whether or not i want to stay on fedi in general, but i think i will. i’ve had a bunch of conflicting thoughts about it (particularly that my experience with fedi is that it can feel fairly insular) but overall i still think its worth it.
im starting to think that maybe the solution is to just be loudly about my interests until i attract others which are also about those things. foxposting and complaining about computer can be fun but i very much want to talk with others about stuff that’s not that
@catgirl_so @kasdeya functional programming concepts will soon spread to all known and unknown languages and paradigms, corrupting them with its eldritch concepts such as The Lens and Transducers (as opposed to the cisducer
)
havent posted much but i promise im still alive, life has been Weird. promise to post more soon
@salad_bar_breath of course she came clean, there’s a bidet now
@kasdeya this is where i like shorthand accessors and lenses
const lens = path => target => // access target[path]
const over = (lens, transformation, target) => { /* calls transformation with the current value of target[lens] */ }
const inc = x => x + 1
over(lens('foo.bar.baz'), inc, data)
(“functional lens” should be a searchable phrase if you’re interested, but effectively it’s a functional getter/setter)
@salad_bar_breath fedi will never truly understand how beautifully unhinged this really is
make me the wuffy overlord i can be trusted with absolute unchecked authority
