it is genuinely ableist as fuck that every single charity resource and government aid agency in the US requires you to make phone calls in order to do literally anything. do you think a deaf person could make 6 calls back-and-forth between their disability lawyer and the social security office just to prove that they’re disabled enough to get enough food to fucking eat? it’ll take them 18 months to decide if they’re going to reject the paperwork btw so hang tight and try not to starve
