something missing from age verification debates ive seen is the fact that so many parents are finding it increasingly difficult to raise kids while working, and are offloading some of that responsibility onto internet apps that entertain their kids when they're not supervised.

I don't really think age verification does a good job of fixing that issue but it's for certain part of how they've so easily manufactured consent for it.

@raeaw extremely good point. it also could be thought of conversely as a desperate need for youth liberation such that they have the social connections and guidance they need irrespective of who is working and when

@rowan yeah exactly. and setting up such a system to enable youth liberation also requires labour from some human. age verified internet services are so appealing to capitalists because minimizes the amount of human labour u need to pay for
