Yesterday, I picked up FreeCAD. I have to say that it can be a pretty complex application, but the toughest thing about it was fixing issues affecting the 3D viewport

@ilobmirt haven't tried out freecad yet, how user friendly is it? i've messed around in openscad and onshape a bit but i feel like i need something less comically complicated lol

@eclairwolf it shouldn't be too complex where you get lost in the sauce. Mouse + Keyboard have similar navigation to blender (when you set it up for that kind of navigation)

You might find the object tree to be a little bit unintuitive as you perform Boolean operations on objects, below the object tree is the property table so you can input hard numbers for your shapes.

The buttons are many. So they have various groups for them. Drafting mode is best mode for moving objects to snap to various edges and surfaces of other objects

But definitely - if you can't even see the 3d space at all, then I found a possible work around for that. It involves application environment variables.
