to avoid the Wayland/X war, going forward all my linux applications will target the framebuffer device only
@foone I have decided to become fully platform independent.
Henceforth, I will draw only on the HTML5 canvas.
@foone I'm still waiting for svgalib to stabilize on 2.0 before I start working on my killer game
@foone @puppygirlhornypost2 I will be using a sharpie and drawing every frame on my monitor directly by hand.
@foone ... there's three bits of display you can use on every keyboard which has a standard mechanism for fiddling their state ... just sayin ...
@foone Annoyingly, the DRM people want to get rid of the framebuffer console too ... (i'm not so sure about the graphical fbdev emulation tho, hmm.. but i bet that is not a recommended interface either lol)
@foone Isn't there an X server that uses framebuffer? I'm sure I remember one...
@foone honestly we should never have moved beyond booter floppies
@mos_8502 I mean, this is a shitpost but I am currently working on a device where I'm writing the GUI to talk to the framebuffer just so I don't have to waste time starting up X/wayland

@foone hmmm and then maybe we could have some kind of framebuffer multiplexing— hang on, i’ve just reinvented plan 9
