what’s a good daw i can easily run on linux and with shitty hardware

@rowan this is more of a tracker+modular synthesizer and has absolutely no compatibility with VSTs and such so it may not gel with you but i'm a big fan of sunvox even if it is closed source. freeware (except android/ios) and incredibly cross-platform. the author made it like 15 years ago to run on Basically Anything you could load software onto easily and the system requirements haven't changed a whole lot in that time afaik

it does also have a programming library associated with it that you can integrate into other projects with non-standard but pretty permissive licensing terms (basically 'original 4-clause BSD-ish' where you have to include an explicit and exactly worded credit to sunvox and the author in any sort of 'advertising material')

@rudi ah, thank you!! i’ve played with sunvox a bit but it was very surface level – though i did click with it instantly. it’s good to know that it holds up with more advanced usage, thank you 💜 i’ll have to try it more seriously given your recommendation
