I was browsing r/emacs today out of curiosity and happened to find this incredible post that’s relevant to a lot more than just #Emacs

basically, if you are logging in to tell people off for their questions or reflections, uh, log the fuck off. with the emphasis on the "fuck off".

@kasdeya I can say that it very much applies to a lot of open source projects. The number of times when I've been really frustrated, spent more time than I've aught to have needed to, and tried to ask politely, (while still expressing my frustration) to end up met with hostility, which then because they have a "be nice" policy (apparently doesn't apply to their hostility) saying that it's really not nice what they said...

The last time it happened, I still couldn't see the justification.
