@kasdeya Post-Scarcity fiction
@kasdeya A meme format does not die, it simply waits for a resurgence.

@kasdeya Post-apocalypse is a bit overused tbh... And overused in a way to make stories that are interesting rather than actually likely to happen
Do refer to some particular fiction piece?
@TheSylveon oh - what’s Lancer? I don’t think I’ve heard of that
@sqrtminusone yeah I’m honestly a little tired of post-apocalyptic fiction at this point. it seems like an easy way to make things feel gritty and desperate but a lot of post-apocalyptic stories tend to be about People Arguing and People Being Selfish Assholes and I’m not into that lol
when I wrote this I was specifically thinking of Diaspora by Greg Egan, and also the TTRPG setting for Eclipse Phase
@kasdeya its a mech based super far future ttrpg where humanity has already colonized the stars, and ive had the core philosophy of it described to me as "fully automated gay space communism, where the revolution has succeeded, but now its your job to make sure utopia spreads everywhere"
@TheSylveon okay that actually sounds incredible. mechs are not my thing at all but I love the whole concept behind that setting
