Trying to explain to a friend from highschool how I made $800 doing findom last summer, while sexualizing the descriptions as little as possible.

They want to do findom. This was my best attempt at a minimally horny description of my experience.

@orange I think a lot more people think they want to do findom than actually want to do it, cus getting paid to be mean to someone sounds like a sweet deal, but it sounds like it requires a lot of artfulness and it is a lot of work.

A rough template for that degradation:

Them: "I am so bad at taxes."

Me: "That's proof that you're a puppy. Puppies are bad at taxes."

Them: "I am such a good puppy!"

@Owlor Professional findom is very hard and a lot of work.

If you've already found somebody into findom and aren't trying to pay your bills with it, it's not really any harder than anything else.

@orange Yeah, what I'm getting at isn't that it's unreasonably hard, just that it isn't the free money ticket it might sound like given a brief, sanitized description.

They'd need to, like, actually commit to the role and if that sounds fun to them, it's not gonna be an obstacle.

@orange woahh interesting. I never thought about degradation like this before - as a way to accept insecurities by reframing them. now it makes a lot more sense why subs like it

@kasdeya I wouldn't say this is the primary reason subs like degradation?

In my experience, degradation mostly just feels good.

But yeah, it can definitely help. Especially when they're stuck feeling insecure.
