why do 70% of all VRChat avatars have massive gooner tits with jello physics?

actually don’t answer that

but genuinely I’ve found a few nice avatars that were kinda ruined for me by the jello physics aspect lol. I wish that could be turned off

as a public service I will be providing my boobs as reference material for gooners to touch and look at so that they can understand breast size and physical properties

size: smaller than a beach ball
physical properties: not jello

@kasdeya should take into account everyone's firmness is different. It also seems like there's a tendency for larger volumes to be less firm.
From what I know, as avatar creators have rambled in places, it's extremely difficult to get a realistically behaving breast bone. Majority of games who do include those physics typically keep them on the much firmer side because it bothers no one. VRChat avatars are typically made for certain particular aesthetics and to look attractive (for the most part I guess). Users tend to prefer them to be bouncier. There are advanced skeletons that have been tried to make more realistic breast physics but none of them are perfect and that's entirely due to the limitations of the physics simulations allowed by the PhysBones. DynamicBones aren't better, that I've been told.

The best way for you to get what you want is to get an avatar and modify the bones responsible for the breasts physics so that they may be more to your liking.

@shijikori hm that’s a good suggestion! you edit VRChat avatars in Unity right? and I’m guessing there’s a way that I can export an avatar from VRChat in order to import it in the Unity editor

I don’t know anything about Unity or editing models but I might give it a try

@kasdeya yes, you need to use Unity. You will have to get the assets for the avatar from the creator, usually by purchasing a license to/copy of the avatar.
They will usually also tell you the requirements you need to get. Common ones are DPS(which there are replacement systems for these days) and PoiyomiPro shaders (though a lot of them may just work with PoiyomiToon which is freely available but a couple fewer features I suppose). A lot of avatars are also offered without DPS/TPS or you could simply strip it out.
The info for setting up your unity environment is available on the VRChat website in the relevant pages about avatar creation

@shijikori hm this actually sounds pretty complex. I might need to learn more about Unity before I tackle this (I’m planning to learn Unity Eventually™ anyway)

but in any case thanks for letting me know about all of this! this definitely helps a lot to know

@kasdeya I barely can use Unity and I manage to upload avatars and even make small edits... At least for me it wasn't a huge deal.
I just strongly encourage you purchase the avatars you intend to use. The people working on these deserve respect for their work.
Especially if they make well optimised avatars. Too few optimise because there isn't an incentive to care.
