redditors who spend hours drawing their highly aesthetic and highly impractical #BulletJournal pages just so they can post them to r/BulletJournal for karma
@kasdeya Wait, I'm supposed to post them to r/BulletJournal for karma?
@kasdeya This screenshot have become much funnier to me after I started picking up calligraphy as a hobby. I literally have pages in my sketchbook that looks like this now, just a random word I've written for practice, written in the most ornate way possible.
@kasdeya A little less than a year, I know I started at some point early last year but don't remember when, and I have a bunch of fancy pens at this point. I got a couple of steel-nib dip pens, a Lamy Joy (a reservoar pen that looks kind of like if you asked a modernist german designer to design a quill pen) and a Pilot Paralell pen, which has a very wide nib and is especially good for 'gothic'-style blackletter.
It's a hobby I can recommend, it's honestly less hard than it looks. It's admittedly not the most useful skill in the world, but I've gotten a lot of use of it around christmas in particular, the labels on the christmas gifts I was giving this year looked really good.
