I bet there would be dramatically fewer conspiracy theorists in the world if kids were taught about the concept of falsifiability in school

like ideally they should be taught about the entire scientific method, what constitutes justified belief, general critical thinking skills, how to weigh evidence, etc. but literally just the concept of falsifiability would do a ton of good

@elexia @kasdeya we were taught the scientific method as a matter of course from elementary to through middle school bear_shrug

@OctaviaConAmore @kasdeya we did a tiny bit of philosophy of science in well, philosophy (meaning that everyone that picked religious education in year 11 never heard of that in their entire school career). mostly learned about scientific method at uni.
