40k as a setting actually has a lot of cool shit in it, but 40k media almost invariably fixates on the least interesting and most generic parts (space marines, orcs, tyranids)
but like 40k has:
also I mentioned orcs as generic above but that’s not actually true? the orcs in 40k are actually a fungus that reproduces asexually and they’re so psychically powerful that their technology only works because they believe it does. but in 40k media they’re presented as generic for some reason lol idk
one must truly wonder why the first two interest you so much :3 /lh
Succubard's Library
@kasdeya honestly, 40k orcs are 10/10
asexually reproducing fungi that manifest psychic effects upon reality via collective belief and probably the only faction in the whole universe having any amount of fun
@kasdeya yeah, its frustrating. The Twice Dead King is such a cool couple of books but my friend is just on some "I'm going to read the Heresy" and as someone who did read the Heresy, its just such a bad introduction to the setting.
@kasdeya the Tau are plenty interesting, from the Farsight Enclave to the Elemental Councils
@kasdeya the Ethereals are constantly scheming against everyone in Tau space and it always goes badly. The Farsight Enclave found out about demons, then found out that the Ethereals knew there were demons all along and threw them all out.
@pharmafemboy hehehehe! it’s because I think they’re so interesting, of course! no other reason at all
