@ShadowJonathan I kinda switched most stuff to Linux now but there is still one painpoint
Gayming (Anticheat gayming)

@ShadowJonathan *thinks about my bfs PC I build*
Because I thought I would have way less PC support problems with him using Windows than him switching to Linux and stream as a VTuber using Linux...
After almost a year of trying to find and fix obscure driver issues and crashes I can say that my plan absolutely did not worked out... Linux would have been so much easier in hindsight...

@ShadowJonathan I really like playing games and I have a very low tolerance for needing to tinker in order to make software work or to fix system problems. also I just don’t have the patience or interest to learn the things that I need to learn in order to use Linux
plus O&O ShutUp 10 automatically disables all of the enshittification for me on Windows 11 so I’m having a very good experience with it for now
@kasdeya @ShadowJonathan path of least resistance is totally valid.
I've the switch, but because my games and usage became supported. For many games (particularly those requiring anti-cheats) that just isn't the case
@iamada @ShadowJonathan the anti-cheat struggle is so real. I wanted to play Paladins with my partner but she wasn’t able to for a very long time because of their stupid anti-cheat. they only allowed Linux at the very last minute as the game was actively dying :/ but I still had a lot of fun with her in that time at least
and yeah I do think that eventually I’m going to have to switch to Linux, because Windows will have become even worse than it is now and I’ll no longer be able to escape from the enshittification. but I’m putting it off because I’m also waiting for Linux to get better too. at least in my experience with Arch so far, it’s not at a point where I want to be using it every day - it frustrates me a lot
