@kasdeya the 2000s were kind of great IMHO, we had neopets and IRC and actual forums and AIM. the 90s were uncomfortably pre-modern (technologically) and the 10s were when "enshittification" really started to take off (but were otherwise fine)
only problem is that queer acceptance was not quite there yet (and yeah it would have been pretty miserable if i'd understood myself back then).

@kasdeya on the last note, things feel bad enough today and felt good *enough* in the 2000s that honestly i might prefer then over now. least it was an upward trend
