multiplayer games need more casual gamemodes. and by that I specifically mean:

  • gamemodes where winning vs. losing mostly comes down to luck
  • gamemodes that go on forever, like 24/7 TF2 servers
  • gamemodes with “blue shell” mechanics that make things harder and harder for the more skilled players while making things easier for less skilled players
  • gamemodes where there is no concept of “winning” vs. “losing” (for example: a gamemode where you change teams each time you’re killed, and the first team to have every player on it wins)
