we need to bring back utopian fiction because most people in 2025 genuinely can’t imagine what a better world would look like

also every piece of dystopian fiction needs to present a proactive way forward or all it’s doing is feeding the apathetic doomerist zeitgeist

I feel like modern mainstream art is terrified of having anything resembling unironic optimism or positivity and that needs to change
