I just discovered r/Skydentify and I love it. it’s a bunch of videos of like “what is this horrifying eldritch monstrosity looming blurrily in the sky??” and the comments will figure out that it’s:

• an octopus kite!
• a solar balloon!
• chaff from a military plane!

and then when you look back at the blurry picture it’s so obvious that that’s what it is. just a whole sub full of spooky mysteries with mundane level-headed answers, and also I get to learn about cool things that can be in the sky. I want to fly a solar balloon sometime. they look fun
