I hate when people assume that only techbros are transhumanists, and then jokingly(?) talk about using future transhuman tech to inflict grievous harm on them

I’ve seen at least three different posts along these lines and it sickens me every time. like you don’t have to be a sneering capitalist to want a better body or to want to Not Die. in fact there are a lot of queers who want to improve their bodies even more than techbros do for some reason 🤔

@kasdeya Exactly, as a furry I find the idea of spending huge amount of effort for a slightly changed human form deeply boring. It's kinda like when Zuckerberg came out with his "Metaverse" ideas... and all he showed was people in human form (but without legs) sitting in a pointless meeting.

From the viewpoint of a person from the year 1800, we are already living in the transhuman future. Median lifespan has tripled, we can prepare meals with the push of a button, speak instantaneously to someone on the other side of the world and even see them, travel to the other side of the world in a day’s time…

Our ways of living have not yet caught up with these changes.
