@kasdeya As best I can tell, the only official announcement was yesterday, which I missed, so this was a completely unexpected surprise!

Just hoping it runs okay on my old computer and I'll disappear into it for a week 😂

so apparently the Oblivion remaster uses Unreal for the rendering, but all of the game’s logic is handled by the original GameBryo engine. that’s really interesting. I’ve been wanting TES games to switch to a more modern engine for a long time, but I was worried that they’d lose some important GameBryo functionality along the way, and this seems like a decent short-term compromise

@kasdeya right!?! like this one had heard the leaks that it was expected, didn't expect it to immediately release!

it can't afford it but luckily it has a gamepass trial right now and it's available there. so that'll probably be what this one does next after it finishes avowed

@devwitch I’m honestly pretty excited to give it a try. with regular Oblivion, I was barely able to even get the game to run for more than 15 minutes at a time without crashing lol - so I can’t wait to play a version of the game that doesn’t look like Xbox-era potato graphics and that (hopefully) will take longer than 15 minutes to crash lol

I’ve put a combined 600+ hours into Skyrim; I’ve been fucking obsessed with that game. so I’m really fucking excited to be able to try Oblivion like this
